Are you doing the interior of the vanity or just the exterior and doors? If you are just doing exterior and doors, i would take off the doors, hinges, hardware, and clean the box, the drawers, and the doors thoroughly. Then sand them with fine grit sand paper and clean them again. The original finish was high gloss, so I sanded with 120 grit sandpaper, primed twice with kilz primer, sanding between layers (220 grit) Using Behr marquee paint which was super thick and hard to work with, which is what I'm thinking went wrong here.
I'm using a high density foam roller and a polyester brush. Any tips would be helpful! I painted my two oak bathroom vanities with white Behr Alkyd semi-gloss paint, it worked great. It goes on like a latex paint but dries like an oil paint (a hard, lacquer-like finish).

The original oak was that orange/brown wood from the 90s so I used basic Kilz white primer for a few coats to cover up the grain, and then 3 coats of the Behr paint. I was going to replace this vanity but figured I could try to paint it first since there arnt too many chips and it's mainly just peeling. I've painted only walls before I've never done furniture.
Should I be sanding and priming this vanity? Also what is the best paint brand to use for this. Color suggestions would be helpful too! Thank. We want to paint our bathroom vanity/cabinet and change the hardware.

It's already primed, but we have to decide on a color. We are leaning towards either a creamy white (SW Alabaster) or a blue (thinking about SW Indigo Batik). The color of the tile (which we cannot change unfortunately) is really throwing us off.
Please critique these steps for painting a bathroom vanity. I have a very outdated yellowish colored oak vanity that I would like to paint. I've been reading various guides and these seem to be the common steps recommended: Remove doors and hardware.
