I moved to a new rental and I noticed some of this on the bottom tiles of the shower area of the bathroom. How do I remove it safely without is causing more health issues or damaging the wall? It IS NOT a place to have your mold identified. You need laboratory analysis for that. You might have a leak behind that wall and the mold is coming through.

Is there a wet wall behind this, or bathroom plumbing? I had that issue with a small section of my bathroom ceiling. I had a dripping leak in my roof (the seal around the vent cracked) and it just dripped onto 1 spot and molded it way through.
